Now that we're in the homestretch for the interactive spy novel There's Always a Madman: Do Your Worst (Steam page here) releasing November 8, 2024, here is a character profile for a key character in the game, The Silver Fox.

Name: Saul Silverstein, aka The Silver Fox

Summary: You may be familiar with madmen who are obsessed with gold.   Not so with this guy - he's obsessed with silver and loathes gold.  His hatred of gold extends so far that he aims to destroy the Golden Gate Bridge - even though the bridge isn't even gold!   It's orange!

Expertise: The Silver Fox is a cunning opponent.  His resources include silver refineries, a Napa Valley winery, and a sizeable war chest originating with family money but which he grown significantly through his own business prowess.  He is cold and calculating, with smarts to spare.

Shortcomings: Silverstein is not much of a physical threat.  Although he can outwit just about anyone, if it comes down to a physical confrontation, he won't stand a chance.   However, he has two henchpeople - the muscular Serling and the tech-savvy Agatha - who get their hands dirty for him when push comes to shove.

Final verdict: The Silver Fox has a one-track mind - he lusts after everything silver and abhors anything gold.  He is not the type of madman who you will be able to dissuade from committing atrocities.  To defeat him, you will have to overcome his henchpeople, his intelligence, and his blind ambition. In other words, your best will not be good enough.  This is no opponent to worry about fighting fair - no, to come out on top against The Silver Fox, you will have to do your worst.
