Continuing the weekly countdown to release for the spy thriller interactive novel There's Always a Madman: Fight or Flight (Steam page here) on March 22, 2024, here is a character profile for a key character in the game, the madman Brutus.

Name: Brutus

Summary: Brutus is a dangerous adversary.  For starters, he has a burly frame and is built like a tank, so he's not one you want to get into a fight with.  He's also a calculating tactician, and none of our usual methods of trickery seem to work on him.  Many times we have attempted to apprehend him, but in each instance, he has evaded our efforts.

Expertise: The man knows how to fight.  And how to execute a plan.   He is disciplined and dedicated to his cause of upending the established world order.  And for what it's worth, he is always impeccably dressed in a well-tailored suit.  Not only does he play the part, but he looks the part as well.

Shortcomings: None that we have discovered yet.  But he is only one man, so he can't be everywhere at once.  Use this to your advantage and ensure he isn't where you need to be.   If you must take the head-on approach, then bring back-up and attack him on multiple fronts to put him on the back foot.

Final verdict: Avoid confrontation with Brutus whenever possible, as he is both stronger and more intelligent than most you will encounter.  He would not be easy to face off against in hand-to-hand combat, nor would he be easily fooled by misdirection.  As such, the best course of action is to plan around Brutus' presence rather than have to deal with him head-on.
