Reflections One Week After the Launch of A Weekend in Puzzleburg

Tomorrow 2/24 brings the one-week mark since A Weekend in Puzzleburg launched on 2/17 (and with it, the end of the launch discount, so if you haven't already grabbed a copy, go do it here).  As such, I figure I should do a recap of launch week.  Here we go:

1. A Weekend in Puzzleburg, its soundtrack, and a deluxe version (the base game + the soundtrack for $2 extra) all launched on 2/17, as expected

2. To celebrate the game's launch, I ran a 96-hour developer playthrough of the game's first hour streamed to the game's Steam page, starting from 24 hours before launch to 72 hours after launch (the pre-recorded dev playthrough ran on loop - I was not actually live for any of the 96 hours)

3. The game also launched right smack dab in the middle of the RPG Maker Festival on Steam, which ran 2/14-2/20, giving a good visibility boost (and boost in wishlists) in the last few days prior to release.  This timing was purely coincidental, as the 2/17 date was picked months prior to the RPG Maker Festival announcement so that the game would launch on National Random Acts of Kindness Day, but I'm happy with how the timing worked out

4. The game garnered its first review from the gaming press, which is a positive review and can be found on the game's store page or right here: https://ladiesgamers.com/a-weekend-in-puzzleburg-review

5. Also on the game's store page, you can find the first review by a player, which is a positive review as well

What comes next:

1. Of course, if you're interested in buying a copy of the game, I'd recommend doing so while it's still on launch discount (there's less than a day left, so best to do it today)

2. I'm still paying close attention for feedback either good or bad, checking the game's Steam community, the game's reviews, streams, let's plays, etc. for anything that might need a potential patch

3. If you've played the game already, fantastic!  Please consider leaving a review on the game's Steam page, on Metacritic, or anywhere else reviews are located.  Steam reviews are especially helpful since players look at them while they're on the game's store page considering purchasing the game at that very moment, but they're also helpful to Steam for learning about the game.  In particular, hitting the ten review mark gets the game a rating (e.g. positive, negative, or mixed) and gets the game additional visibility with players.  So please consider leaving a review with your honest opinion - whether it's a positive or negative review doesn't matter.  Any review is better than no review

4. I have some marketing activities lined up for March and April.  I'm really looking forward to the next couple of months, as the game gets a wider audience based on my own marketing efforts and hopefully some word of mouth from those who already played the game and recommend it to others

And now that I have a released video game, it of course feels great being able to officially call myself a video game developer now!

I hope everyone has been enjoying A Weekend in Puzzleburg. You can check out the game on Steam here if you haven't gotten it yet: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1929760/A_Weekend_in_Puzzleburg
